Kinematifest Submission Guidelines

Eligibility

High School, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Certificate students may submit entries in the following categories:

2D Animation
3D Animation
Sequential Art (graphic novels and storyboards)
Compositions (CG Models, Still 3D Scenes, Environments)
Visual Effects
Interactive Media (CD-Roms, Webpages, Video Games)
 
Specifications for Submissions

Entries for 2D Animation, 3D Animation, and Visual Effects must submit their files as .mov, .flv, or .mp4 file types. It is recommended to submit files with a resolution of at least 480p*.

Sequential Art and Composition pieces should be submitted as .png, .jpg, .gif, or .tiff*.

Interactive Media website submissions must include original source files on a disc, with the url included if the site is active online.

 *Images will be projected onto a large screen for the showcase. In order to have the best representation of your art, please submit the highest resolution version available.


Permissions

All entrants will be required to fill out and sign our entry form, certifying that they meet the requirements, and that they hold all the rights to the materials that they have submitted. Entrants agree to allow Kinematifest and Webster University the rights to use these materials for promotional and educational purposes.

Kinematifest would like to include student animation on YouTube. Entry inclusion on the Kinematifest YouTube account is optional, but highly recommended. Entrants can opt-in by checking the box on the entry form.

Winners

Winners will be awarded in each category. If none of the entries in any particular category meet the criteria for recognition, the category may be eliminated at the judges' discretion.
